It's the Freakin' Weekend, Baby!

Image via Pinterest
Hello again, friends! In lieu of posting twice today, I will just be bringing you my weekly roundup of links a tad early. Why, you may ask? I had my wisdom teeth taken out this morning - and I think all of the medicine might have left me a little loopier than normal ; ) but for now, I'm wrapped up in bed watching "What Not To Wear" - plus, there are lots of milkshakes, DVDs, and good books in my near future - so hooray for that!

So, what are your plans this weekend? I hope they don't involve any oral surgery! If you're a football fan (or just a cute commercials fan) will you be enjoying the Super Bowl with friends? At a bar? Or just curled up on your own couch with junk food (my personal fave)? I hope you have something great planned!

In addition to healing, I'll be spending a lot of time this weekend making some fun updates to the blog...you may have already noticed, but Katie, Darling! can now be found at itskatiedarling.com (I splurged on a domain name and I feel so official!). But on top of that, I have some fun new ideas to make the page more interactive. Be on the lookout for those in next week's posts! Until then, here are some fun links for your weekend:

Disney just released this incredibly romantic animated short (just in time for Valentine's Day!)... It's a perfect reminder of how glorious and spontaneous love can be.

I recently read a great interview with Drew Barrymore in Good Housekeeping magazine - she's been my girl since Ever After and hearing her talk about being a new mom and falling in love just warmed my heart!

I posted about this on my Facebook page earlier in the week, but they just released the look book for Prabal Gurung for Target (due in stores February 10th) and I am in love! The shoes are bright and edgy and fun - I can't wait to get rock them with all of my bright spring outfits!

Since my ability to eat solid foods is going to be limited for a while, I think it's the perfect time for me to give this lemon chicken orzo soup a shot - doesn't it look yummy? Anything with orzo in it is at the top of my "must make" list lately.

Mental Floss posted a great article on the eleven most mispronounced words in the English language - I was guilty of 8 out of 11! Don't put the kibosh on it...pronunciations are my niche ; )

Roger Ebert posted a very funny comic from The Oatmeal the other day - it's all about the creative writing process as a blogger/Internet writer. So funny, so true - and a little salty! Language might not be safe for all...

Finally, I couldn't send you off without sharing the song I've had on loop for at least a week - NBC's "Smash" returns on Tuesday and I've been listening to the Season 1 soundtrack nonstop! This sweet tune is definitely my favorite.

I hope I provided you with some fun and inspiration for the weekend! Until Monday, my darlings!

xoxo,

  1. Katie, if you have never been to Cava Mezze, you have to! They have burnt butter orzo and I'm in love. They have 3 locations close to DC- it's a greek tapas restaurant and the entire experience was amazing.
Good luck with your healing :)
